High School Career Coaching

A one-on-one strategic thinking exercise that guides the high school student to identify the key elements that lead to an assertive career choice. The exercise helps the student recognize his/her unique combination of passions, talents, and life expectations. This allows us to narrow down the professional possibilities to a group of areas or disciplines. The student gets a more in-depth understanding of these first-pass results based on:

  • Activities and work environment involved each professional area.

  • The lifestyle associated with the careers under investigation and how that matches with the student’s personality and his/her expectations in the short and long term.

  • The likely future of technologies in those areas and the changes in the society and how these will impact the job market of the considered careers during the next decades.

Based on the above analysis, the young student will select the most attractive vocational options. Then, the career options are explored in a group of major programs based on the student’s preferences, as well as, the admission requirements, so he/she will able to address a well-supported decision process during college applications.

What's Key:

  • Understanding that the career will go beyond those four years in college.

  • Understanding what the career will consist of and what life it will lead to.

  • Including the advantages and limitations of that career choice.

  • Link the personality of the student to the career.

  • Foreseeing how new technologies will impact the job market in the next decades.

The educational system is only capable of demonstrating a portion of the full potential of each student.

Each person is unique and has an immense potential to develop!
